Maintain the systems and infrastructure that keep trading operations running around the clock.
Role description
Westren Capital is a London-based proprietary trading firm specialising in digital asset markets. This role sits within our infrastructure team, responsible for the systems, networks, and tooling that keep trading operations running around the clock.
Digital asset markets do not close. Neither does the responsibility for keeping the systems that trade in them healthy, which makes this role as much about prevention as it is about response.
Responsibilities
Monitor and maintain the firm's core infrastructure, including servers, networking, and connectivity to exchanges and venues
Respond to and resolve infrastructure incidents quickly, with clear communication to affected trading and engineering teams
Build and improve monitoring, alerting, and automation to catch problems before they become incidents
Support engineers and traders with infrastructure needs, from provisioning to troubleshooting, without becoming a bottleneck
Maintain and improve deployment pipelines, configuration management, and system reliability practices
Participate in on-call rotation, given that markets, and the systems trading in them, don't keep office hours
Requirements
Requirements:
Demonstrated experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or systems engineering, ideally in a low-latency or high-availability environment
Strong Linux systems knowledge, including networking, performance tuning, and troubleshooting under pressure
Scripting ability in Python, Bash, or similar for automation and tooling
Experience with monitoring and alerting systems, and a bias toward catching problems early rather than explaining them after
Comfortable working in a high-stakes environment where downtime has immediate, visible cost
Prior experience supporting trading systems or other latency-sensitive infrastructure is a strong advantage
