Role description
Westren Capital is a London-based proprietary trading firm specialising in digital asset markets. The Trading Analyst role sits close to the desk, supporting traders and researchers with the data, analysis, and market context needed to make and defend trading decisions in real time.
This is not a back-office analytics role. You'll be in the room when positions are being sized and risk is being reassessed, and expected to have an opinion backed by something more than intuition.
Responsibilities
Monitor markets across digital asset venues and flag relevant price action, liquidity shifts, and news flow to the desk in real time
Build and maintain dashboards and reports covering positions, PnL, exposure, and market conditions
Conduct ad hoc analysis to support trading and risk decisions, often against a tight deadline and an incomplete dataset
Track and analyse historical market events to build institutional knowledge of how this market actually behaves under stress
Assist in reconciling trades, positions, and data discrepancies before they become a problem rather than after
Work with quant and engineering teams to improve the data and tooling the desk relies on daily
Requirements
Requirements:
Strong analytical skills, able to turn messy, incomplete data into something a trader can act on quickly
Proficiency in Python, SQL, or similar tools for data analysis and reporting
Genuine interest in and understanding of digital asset markets, market structure, and trading mechanics
Comfortable working under pressure during volatile market conditions, where the desk needs answers now, not eventually
Strong attention to detail; small errors in this seat compound quickly into large ones on the book
Clear communicator, able to summarise complex market conditions concisely for people who need to act on them immediately
